Instructors

Our Chief Instructor was awarded Dan (Black Belt) certification within the lineage of the late Great Grand Master Hwang Kee, Founder of Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan, whose teachings later evolved into Soo Bahk Do. He has since attained Master rank certifications, including 4th Dan directly from the late Grandmaster Ah Po, a direct student of Great Grand Master Hwang Kee, and currently holds 5th Dan certification.
He also holds SaBom (Master Instructor) certification from Grandmaster Ah Po.

These credentials are shared not as a measure of superiority, but to honour the lineage and tradition upon which Lion Pride Tang Soo Do is founded. This lineage has been instrumental in the careful development of our age-appropriate, methodical Tang Soo Do curriculum.

KyoSaNim Rakesh Mistry, 3rd Dan

Mr Mistry began training under Master Adam Preston in 2013. He was awarded Dan in 2017 and earned his KyoSa (Instructor) certification in 2019.

His training has taken him across the UK, where he had the opportunity to meet Phillip Rhee, Simon Rhee, and Grandmaster Ho Sik Pak — stars of the 1989 martial arts film Best of the Best.

Mr Mistry believes that hard work and discipline are essential qualities for preparing students to meet the challenges of the future.

Assistant Instructors

Within Lion Pride Tang Soo Do; our members also have the opportunity to take responsibility for helping others within a DoJang under a SaBom or KyoSa; thus contributing to our 'Pride'. This is the role of the Assistant Instructor. They typically work with our Little Lions.

This provides valuable experience for those wishing one day to take up the KyoSa process.
